Nike Air Max 90 Be True

The Nike Air Max 90 “Be True” has made its debut at select retailers overseas first this weekend, but its stateside arrival is slated until mid-June. Listed as part of Nike’s 2019 “BETRUE” collection, this variation of the runner salutes the 50-year anniversary of the Stone Wall uprising and pays homage to the late LGBTQIA+ rights activist and designer of the rainbow flag, Gilbert Baker.

Flaunting a color block theme that features a highlight rainbow multi-stitched Swoosh logo on its side panels to reflect the LGBTQ flag, the model is also detailed with a sockliner graphic that represents the eight colors and meanings from the original flag in 1978. Finally, a white midsole, yellow Air Max unit and pops of teal on the front portion of the outsole completes the theme.

Retailing for $130, look for the Nike Air Max 90 “Be True” at select Nike stores stateside and online on June 15.

The national Puerto Rican Day Parade occurs on June 9 in NYC, and this special Nike Air Max 1Premium “Puerto Rico” will be celebrating the annual event. Covered in the country’s signature flag colors of white, red and blue, the runner is composed of mixed materials with leather, mesh and nubuck.

The mismatching nubuck mudguard in red and blue also features subtle dotted patterns across, while other notable markings include “Pa’lante” and “Mi Gente” printed on the inner tongues, in addition to the Puerto Rican flag embroidered on its heels. Finally, special “Nike PR Air Max” branded tongue labels, white midsoles and matching tricolor outsoles in red/white/blue hues finishes off the theme.
